ADAS Calibration for Bentley models

Your Bentayga's Adaptive Cruise Control dropped out after a windshield swap through Speedy Glass. That's the Touring Specification front camera losing its reference point. Same platform as Audi and Porsche - but Bentley's tolerances are tighter. We recalibrate it in under 90 minutes.

Bentley ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Bentley model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Bentley ADAS Systems We Calibrate

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Guidance - front radar behind the grille/bumper plus forward camera at the top of the windshield behind the rear-view mirror. Triggers after any bumper repair, grille removal, or windshield replacement. Without recalibration, the system won't maintain set following distance and lane centring fails at highway speed.
  • Emergency Braking - uses the same forward camera and radar pair. Fires when both sensors agree on an imminent collision. A 2mm radar shift after bumper work can delay braking response by up to 0.3 seconds - enough to turn a near-miss into contact at 100 km/h.
  • Lane Assist - camera-only system reading lane markings. Windshield replacement is the primary trigger. If the replacement glass positions the camera bracket even slightly off-axis, the system reads phantom lane departures or fails to detect real ones.
  • Blind Spot Warning - rear radar sensors in the quarter panels. Triggered by rear-end collision repair or quarter panel replacement. Misalignment causes false alerts or, worse, no alert when a vehicle sits in the blind zone.

Bentley sits on the VW Group platform family. The Bentayga shares its MLB Evo underpinnings with the Audi Q7 and Q8, while the Continental GT and Flying Spur run on MSB - the same architecture as the Porsche Panamera. What separates Bentley is the Touring Specification packaging, which bundles all four systems as standard on current models. The calibration procedures mirror Audi and Porsche at the hardware level, but Bentley's OEM software requires separate security credentials.

The Touring Specification Problem

Bentley doesn't sell ADAS as an option list. Every current Bentayga, Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Continental GTC ships with Touring Specification as standard equipment. That means every Bentley windshield replacement and every front-end repair triggers a calibration requirement. There's no "base model without sensors" to sidestep it.

This catches owners off guard. A Speedy Glass technician replaces the windshield, hands back the keys, and the dashboard lights up with warnings the owner has never seen before. The glass shop may not even mention calibration because their system doesn't flag Bentley the way it flags a Toyota or Honda. Bentley's Canadian volume is small enough that many glass installers have never processed one.

The fix isn't complicated once you know the platform. But the gap between "windshield replaced" and "systems recalibrated" can be days or weeks if the owner doesn't know what to do next. And driving with uncalibrated Emergency Braking isn't a cosmetic issue - it's a safety one.

VW Group Security Gateway and Aftermarket Glass

Bentley shares VW Group's security architecture, and that creates two problems aftermarket shops rarely discuss openly.

Security gateway lockout

Newer Porsche models require an SFD token that most aftermarket diagnostic tools can't provide. Bentley uses a related but separate security system. Where a VW or Audi might let an Autel tablet connect with standard ODIS credentials, Bentley's gateway can block third-party tools entirely on 2021+ models. Some shops discover this mid-appointment - the customer is waiting, the car is on the lift, and the tool just won't handshake with the ECU.

ADAS Line maintains OEM-level access across the VW Group family, including Bentley-specific credentials. No guesswork, no mid-job lockouts.

Aftermarket glass failures on VAG platforms

Across the VW Group, aftermarket windshield glass is a documented calibration killer. FYG-branded glass has been confirmed failing on Audi vehicles - the camera positioning bracket on aftermarket glass isn't precise enough for VAG tolerances. Pilkington glass has also caused repeated failures on Porsche and Audi despite being a major supplier. The camera mounts, passes the visual check, but the calibration target won't lock.

Audi and VW officially do not allow aftermarket glass for ADAS-equipped vehicles. Bentley follows the same position. If your Bentayga was fitted with aftermarket glass and the warning lights won't clear, the glass itself may be the root cause - not a calibration error. We diagnose this before starting work and can advise on OEM glass replacement through insurance if needed. Getting pre-authorization with the OEM position statement is the standard path for insurance approval.

Night Vision and the Bentayga's Extra Sensor Layer

The Bentayga offers an infrared Night Vision system that most calibration shops have never touched. It uses a thermal imaging camera behind the grille that detects pedestrians and large animals beyond headlight range, projecting alerts onto the driver display.

Night Vision calibration isn't triggered by windshield work - it sits behind the grille, not the glass. But any front bumper repair, grille removal, or radiator service can shift it. The system requires its own separate calibration procedure with specific target positioning. A shop that calibrates the forward camera and radar but skips Night Vision has left one system uncalibrated.

This is where Bentley's low volume works against owners. A shop that does three Volkswagen calibrations a week may have never seen a Night Vision-equipped Bentayga. They calibrate what they recognize and miss what they don't. We check every sensor on the vehicle against Bentley's full system manifest before starting any procedure.

Why Bentley Owners Choose ADAS Line

  • VW Group platform specialists - we calibrate across Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Bentley daily. Same platform DNA, same tooling, different badge.
  • C$299 vs C$1,200+ at the dealer - Bentley dealer calibration pricing in Canada regularly exceeds C$1,000 for a single camera reset. Our windshield calibration starts at C$299 with the same OEM-grade result.
  • Certified technicians - every calibration includes a calibration certificate documenting the systems reset, target values achieved, and equipment used.
  • Service centres across Canada - from Toronto to Vancouver, our network covers major metro areas so you're not driving 200 km to the nearest Bentley dealer.
  • Full system check, not partial - we verify every ADAS sensor on the vehicle, including Night Vision on equipped Bentaygas, not just the one the glass shop flagged.

How Bentley ADAS Calibration Works

  1. Get a quote - tell us the model, year, and what triggered the need. Windshield replacement and front bumper repair are the two most common triggers on Bentley vehicles. We confirm which systems need resetting before you book.
  2. Book your appointment - static calibration takes 60-90 minutes for camera and radar. If Night Vision or Blind Spot Warning also need attention, allow 90-120 minutes for the full system reset.
  3. Drive away calibrated - every system is verified against OEM specifications. You receive a calibration certificate for your records and for insurance documentation if the work was claim-related.

Bentley ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Bentley

Yes. Every current Bentley model ships with Touring Specification as standard, which includes a forward-facing camera mounted at the top of the windshield. Removing or replacing the windshield displaces this camera. Calibration is required on every Bentayga, Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Continental GTC after glass work.
